I used to be a ballerina, I twirled round on one pointe, I stayed at it for ten whole years, Until I hurt my joints.
My whole family were distraught to see my time was done, My ballet life was over, the end of all the fun.
I made a promise to the teacher, I'd carry on forever, But my body couldn't take much more, I think my choice was clever.
I miss those days very much, Despite the pain they caused, I had to say goodbye to them, I heard my last applause.
