Chapter 19:

I hadn't spoken to Cindy or Jasmine in weeks and knew my best friend's time in Britain was coming to an end. Her flight was in a few days and I knew I had to apologise to her for the way I acted but part of me still felt anger towards her. We had been best friends since we were little and I felt incomplete without her in my life, despite everything that happened. I decided to make time to talk to Cindy and start amending my life. I loved them both and couldn't leave them this way.

Cindy was in the shop putting the dresses in boxes, sighing with disappointed. Her head sprung up as the bell chimed marking my entrance. "Cindy! What are you doing?" "Packing the things up sweetheart! We're closing down, for good." "Well, what will you do with these hundreds of dresses? You can't just get rid of them all!" I said pacing with no breath. My heart sank into my stomach as I looked around the empty store. It looked bewildered and almost lonely and tore me apart seeing it like this. "I haven't decided yet. Chris has kindly offered to take a lot of them off me as he knows where they could sell for good price but there are about a hundred that need to find a home." "Leave it with me Cindy, I've got an idea."

As I finished packing the dresses into the boot of my car, I was relieved as a lot of new ideas were coming back to me from when Cindy first told me about the shop closing down. As I drove past, I knew that in a few weeks it would no longer belong to Cindy and couldn't let someone else take over.

The next day I rang Cindy up telling her about my ideas and she was more than happy to help me out, although I could tell she wasn't completely ready to get back into everything. I had a new idea, something that wasn't the usual thing, and I couldn't wait to get it all started.

As I picked up the pale pink signs from the publishers the following week, my heart did flutters inside. Chris had already started on some of my designs, just without me being present, and he told me that a lot of his workmates said that they would really sell. I already had my name out there in the designing world and was bubbling to get started with it all properly once my little side project was underway. This idea would help me earn enough money, as well as my grand savings that had been going since I was three, to make a huge investment that I would never regret.

When I handed Matt the smallish advertisement, his face lit up with excitement as he read it aloud: "Sophia's Dream!" I stopped him quickly to get his attention, "it's tacky, isn't it? It doesn't sound very, 'weddingy'..." "It's fab Soph, we all know you're the fairy godmother of bridal wear so why not have your name on it?" He said kindly rubbing my waste. "And I can always change it," I replied, trying to reassure myself. Matt continued to read on: "you no longer need to come in and alter yourself to the dresses, the dresses can now come to you! The best way to find your perfect dress, right in the comfort of your own home! Just write to us saying what you have in mind and we'll work our magic to make all your dreams come true."

"It's perfect. Amazing in fact. It'll do so well, you'll see." Said Matt kissing me gently. With the dresses I had left over, a car, and of course my designs that were already being processed, I felt confident that this part time scenario was going to work out. Soon, I would be able to call what used to be Blushing Brides, my own."
