Chapter 25:

Our time in Paris quickly drew to an end and we tried to squeeze in any last site seeings or shopping we could. We went to the top of the Eiffel Tower and could see the whole of Paris beneath us, busy cars driving by and little picnic tables where couples would eat day to day. This trip had been one of the best of my life and every second I was with Matt I felt complete.

Our flight was at midnight, so we quickly said our last goodbyes to the Tower of Dreams as we drove by, lights glistening like tiny fairies working their magic. On the way home, Matt and I felt it would be appropriate to watch Moulin Rouge as it was one of my favourite films, and would leave us both remembering all our fond memories of our time in Paris.

Matt dropped me home and I thanked him greatly for the amazing experience. I felt sad parting from him as our little romantic getaway to the City of Love was truly spectacular. Of course I was so happy to see my parents as I had missed them while I was away, and resting my head on the pillow, I dreamt sweetly of the little bridal shop that made the mum-to-be's dreams come true.

I had four bookings the next day, all packed together so knew it would be tiring. This job was so exciting, though and everyday was different. I seemed to satisfy the excited ladies and felt happy myself, and each week counted my profits that went towards buying the shop. I had been in touch with the estate agent and I had until mid April-May until my request timed out. As she knew how special it was to me and that I had worked there, she kindly let me get first dibs on making an offer, but after a while she had to accept other contributions. Of course I was eternally greatful for her kind gestures and prayed that my efforts would be enough.

Matt's cousin, Helena, worked for Chris but kindly offered to help me with some of the fittings as she was fully qualified, and since she had started contributing to the business, income was getting much better. I paid her enough to get by, but she refused to take too much from me as she knew I needed the help and to be honest, was pretty well off to start with. I now had two diaries, one for each of us and it really helped to speed things up. Although I had only known her a while, I was completely in love with her and her huge heart and would thank her forever for all the hard work she put in. We had become close friends and often met up outside of the business. I couldn't wait for Jas to meet her.

After the long day, I came home and rang up Evie Renton, the estate agent. I had money left over from my second year of uni that I never completed, but left more than enough for if I ever wanted to go back. We had earned a substantial amount from our house fittings and felt confident that I wasn't far off the final budget. The shop was being sold for a very cheep price as the structure and interior was rather aged, and there was only one room upstairs for storage. Cindy managed to convince Evie to give me a little discount as well, as the two were good friends and a few years ago, Mrs Renton got her dress fitted in Blushing Brides. A married couple were my only completion, but I knew if I could meet the deadline, it would be me who would be handed the keys.

14th April. A few more days until my time was up. After months of hard work as well as sacrificing a lot such as my personal savings account, I knew as well as everyone around me that this was a big deal. My parents were one hundred percent behind me, although worried about my age and the stress that would come with it, but knew in their hearts that this was the one thing that made me happy, and my only chance to fight for what I loved. For twenty years old, I may have seemed rather ambitious, but my ideas for the tiny boutique would be a surprise to everyone, and I couldn't wait.
