Chapter 30:

I had never seen a store look so radiant in my whole life; the atmosphere was indescribable and I felt proud to just be standing there, let alone owning it myself.

Matt took my hand and showed me around every inch of it. I immediately noticed a small jar of iced cakes and biscuits shaped like bow ties and engagement rings and the lovely Jasmine standing behind with flour coated hair and cheeks. How she managed to create such beauties in the tiny kitchen area with her proud bump blew me away. A small white rack stood near the entrance, with wedding invitations and cards, neighbouring a new table I hadn't seen before that was thin and tall with a wedding planner book and fountain pen opened up neatly.

Matt took my hand and lead me toward the cream doors that held treasures within. "Open it." Matt said, kindly. As I did as I was told, my eyes couldn't adjust to the magical kingdom these busy people had created for me. It was so much nicer then I had ever dreamed it would be, and bright Daisy's were spread across the room spreading happiness in the shop. All I could do was cry as I sat down and looked amongst all the little things that made the shop so perfect.

We spent the whole night laughing and partying, and more and more people joined us in our celebration. We brought jas a change of clothes as she was completely covered in baking goods, and she then began to relax. Although having everyone there was great, I needed a moment to reflect on the day and appreciate how lucky I was.

I sat on the swinging bench, gazing into the night sky. That night, only one star shone in the universe, but that was enough to make it beautiful. Matt joined me with a small bunch of roses and started to swing in time with me. "I remember standing out here all those months ago with you Soph, what was that, a year and a half?" He asked, smiling with his familiar grin. "It would be, wouldn't it." I replied with a sigh. "My god, look how much has happened since then." "How much more amazing you've become." Said Matt, cuddling me. "Thank you. Thank you for making the shop so special. How many times can I thank you in this lifetime, I wonder." I said looking up at him. "Don't thank me. Just let me love you until the day I die, that's all I ask of you." A tear began to spill from both our eyes. "With you in my life Matt, no matter how bad things may be, everything is much better when you're there to catch me." "And I always will be, that's a promise." "How do I know that, though? How can I be sure?" I sat up looking at him deeply. He handed me the bouquet, slowly untying the white ribbon that held them together. "I was going to do this in Paris, but being here with you right now, in the garden on a summer evening is just as good to me." I took the bouquet, feeling the ribbon and a heavier object fall into my hand. The ring sparkled in the moonlight, giving me goosebumps all over. "So, what do you say Soph? After nearly two years of being with me, shall we just make it a lifetime deal?" He asked with a giggle. I nodded standing up and looking at him with excitement and a weird feeling inside my tummy. "Well, that's good then, isn't it." He replied standing opposite me. He hesitated to kiss me and I slowly met his lips feeling a magic start between us. Something shone in the corner of my eye, and we both looked up to see a shooting star pass by. "You know who that was, don't you?" I asked him knowing exactly why we saw a shooting star that night. Matt shook his head, looking at me with questioning eyes. "It was Maggie. She said: you better chose a pretty dress."
