Chapter 28:
The Wedding Shop. The bold letter stood proudly above the show windows, reflecting the warm sunlight. As the final letter was being adjusted, everything else fell into place. I chose for them to be a very pale pink colour, standing out against the black behind them. I saw villagers stop and stare, a few if the old ladies faces became very joyful when they could see a wedding shop still standing there after Maggie's tragic death.
Things were looking amazing on the inside too. I kept the pink curtains as they matched the sign and kept the interior light and warm. A new set of fairy lights hung on one side of the wall, and I had put a few of my designs in golden frames that sat above the fire place. There was still plenty to do, but everything was great with the house fittings, which allowed me to spend on the shop and anything it needed.
I planned on having the front of the shop showing some sweet treats for the couple to try, then by the fire place, there would be a white rack that span round, showing save-the-dates and wedding invitations. As you walked further on you would see some bridesmaids dresses, but only a few, and it was then you saw all the renovations taking place. I had found three builders willing to do a job for me for a decent price, that could either make or break the shop. Halfway down I was planning on dividing the shop so that there would be two glass doors with windows where only the bride could go. Behind them would be a display of all the dresses and two chairs for the brides friends or family to sit. Next to the chairs were three mirrors joined together where silver fairy lights glistened above. If the bride preferred, we could do the fittings in the next room, which had already been done up. There was a thin mirror in the corner and a cream armoire that Cindy had given me from Blushing Brides with little pearls and tiaras neatly stacked. The walls were a faint minty green and each hung pictures from all the brides that had sent me pictures from their wedding days, wearing the dresses I had chosen for them.
After doing all the maths to figure out how to space everything, I realised there was a decent amount to work with, and in my mind, everything looked perfect. I couldn't wait to put everything into reality.
A delivery man came with an order, and inside were two glass cake stand with glass covers that had come from the US. A note attached on the inside read:
My darling Sophia, I am glad to hear everything is going well with the shop, can't wait to see it! These cake stands may become useful to me too, as I hear you need a baker? Be ready for me, I'm coming!
Love you, Jas xxx
Excitement built up inside me; I don't know how she did it, but she managed to convince Sam to move back here, giving me goosebumps all over my arms. I was just so happy that my Jasmine was coming to work for me, in my little shop.
