Chapter 12:
I hadn't been to the shop as regularly as I usually did and was missing it terribly. Christmas was in a few days and I still hadn't given Cindy and Maggie their Christmas presents so made time to visit the store.
When I arrived they were in the middle of a fitting so I just sat and watched another lady's dreams come true. I had only done two fittings and it was quite nerve wracking but luckily the women were really kind and seemed just as nervous as me.
The dress the lady was trying on was a stunning piece by Vera Wang™; it had a beautiful black bow to tie it at the waste and was very voluminous but suited her boyish figure. The shop could only afford to show a few Vera Wang™ pieces but the little amount they had were worth it.
Once the fitting was over and the woman purchased the dress she left leaving a happy atmosphere from such a great deal.
"so Soph, how've you been? Busy busy?" Asked Cindy giving me a sympathetic look. "yes studying hard so I can be done with this degree. I'm so happy with my decision; I can't wait to start a new chapter in my life." "we can't either." said Maggie with a loving smile.
I passed them both their Christmas presents and watched both their faces gleam with happiness. "oh Sophia, how beautiful!" said Cindy hanging the necklace against her neck. I had bought her a crystal heart from Swarovski™ on a brown thread and I could see she liked it. "yes, I love them Sophia! You're so sweet." Maggie's was similar but was shaped like a long oval with purple thread. They cuddled me tight and I was glad I made them feel as happy as they made me.
Cindy reached from behind her chair and gave me a small green box tied up nicely with a red ribbon. As I opened it I found a beautiful treasure that glistened under the lights.
It was a small model of a bride with a sparkly white dress and veil. I loved her as she already held happy memories for me at Blushing Brides. There was also a white envelope attached with a lovely Christmas card and a very generous bonus from the ladies. I thanked them more times then I could remember and felt bad taking such a large amount from them.
"it's our pleasure sweetheart, you're the best person we ever hired, and we've been at this a long time!"
I gave them both big kisses and made my way home. I sat down at my computer and wanted to write an email to Chris about the upcoming events we'd soon be planning:
Hi Chris,
Hope you're well and enjoying the Christmas break! Just wanted to apologise for putting everything on hold but hope we'll be planning things soon! Can't wait, and thanks again for all your efforts.
All my love and wishing you a Happy Christmas,
Sophia.
I wanted to spend some time with my little brothers as I had missed them badly recently. We played some party games and they put on a little Christmas play for me, one of them being Rudolph and the other Santa. I had never loved little people this much before and I hated being away from them as we both enjoyed each other's company. We made some mince pies and waited for them to turn golden in the oven. My phone beeped showing I had an email from Chris. It said:
Hi Sophia,
Glad to hear your busy with your studies and looking forward to working with you soon. Let me know when you're ready to discuss when you can come to the studios and how the exams go! Good luck, you'll be fine.
Have a wonderful Xmas and try get some rest! Kind regards, Chris.
Oh and P.S Matt wanted me to give this to you: 07743874587- his phone number...? :)
I smiled to myself as I was glad our kiss meant something to him and he wanted to stay in touch. I ran up to my two little friends and kissed them both on the cheek. "what was that for?" "I just love you both lots and lots." "we do too." they both replied.
