I guess you could call this the final chapter, but there's still a little bit to add so look out for the final part of The Wedding Shop xx

Chapter 42:

(Part 2/2)

Chantelle switched the final light off in the office as she began walking out laughing with Sarah. "Girl, you can't stay here all night! Come on, let's share a cab." She called over to me. "Yeah, let's go Soph; you can't win every case." Agreed Sarah as she stroked my back. "I know. I'll be fine, you go. I've got plenty to do." I said with a faint grin. "Ok, if you're sure." Answered Sarah. "Remember to lock up on your way out."

The truth was I didn't have a lot to do, nothing in fact. My priorities had revolved around this case, and without it I felt quite empty. I made myself a coffee and went onto google, typing the shop into the search bar. The website popped up, only being completed a few weeks ago, and I laughed in irony about how it would be taken down soon.

I couldn't picture my life without the shop; it was still my baby, but I had to think about my life in the future. This career brought in a lot more money, and it was something I could do anywhere in the world. The Wedding Shop was something I needed to share with someone, and considering that someone didn't really exist right now, maybe this was the better option.

When I'd finished browsing on the website, I decided to go back to the hotel and try to forget about everything that had happened that day. I wrapped my jacket tight around my waist as I entered the frosty mist. Red and gold lights lit up the city in indication to the exciting holidays. A group of around ten young children huddled around the entrance of the building, each accompanied by a small candle, chanting my favourite Christmas song. The familiar tune of O Holy Night brought back fond memories of the dozens of happy Christmas' I had spent with those I loved. Their angelic voices filled me with emotion, and I couldn't resist leaving them some money. Once they finished their rendition, they could see I was sad it had ended, and kindly started again. I saw a rare empty cab shoot by, and new I wouldn't get another chance to catch one anytime soon.

Crowds of people soon appeared to hear the carollers, each and everyone smiling fondly, a couple moved to tears. Again, I was trapped in a tight and familiar gathering, but didn't try to escape. All until one moment, the happiest moment of my life.

I froze in shock as I heard the familiar voice calling my name, at first convincing myself it was my imagination. The voice didn't go away though, each calling getting louder and louder. I tried to turn around, but it was too tight. The crowd soon realising that I was desperate made a parting down the middle, that soon was covered in tiny white drops that fell delicately from the sky. I stayed staring at the ground as I was too overwhelmed and frightened to face the truth. My heart pounded at a thousand beats a minute, when suddenly I realised there was no need to be afraid as it was what I had been waiting for all this time.

I slowly raised my head, nearly collapsing to the floor when I was certain it was him. He had come back for me. Just like I had wished for every night when I gazed up at those stars. "Soph," He said, stroking my hair the way I loved. "I need you with me, I just can't do it without you." "I can't do it either, whatever it is. Matt, I'm coming home." I hugged him tightly. He raised my chin to face him, snow catching his eyebrows. "Good, because that shop misses you, you know." "And I miss the shop." I finally said, after the many days I'd been pretending. "I knew all along you wouldn't say goodbye." He said grinning. "Not with all the memories it holds of us." I answered. "Matt, can I ask you something?" "Anything." He replied. "Could I have my ring back?" "I thought you'd never ask." We held our gaze, until we finally ended the picturesque scene with a kiss that words and emotions could never describe. The only way I could explain it to you would be a kiss that made you realise how special love is, no matter what the context; whether it's a person, an item, or even a wedding shop.
