Ok, so last night I had such a weird dream and I'm going to try and make it into a short story...here goes nothing!
It was early Monday morning when the headmistress asked for me in her office. She seemed very uptight and agitated about something. When she began to speak I caught onto her nerves. "look Vera, I'm so sorry I have to get you involved in this. It's really not fair, but you have been chosen to undertake this task, and really there's no time to say no." I nodded, though at this point all sorts of things were running through my head. I thought she maybe needed me to show some parents around or help with the charity work; but not once did anything like this cross my mind. "I'm sending you to a secret location for a week where you will join another school. They want to see how capable students from our sort of school are at learning things quickly and how their behaviour is etc." she said this in such a rush I barely took any of it in. "B-b-but why me? Why do I have to do it? And what's so special about this school, anyway?" "look vera, you have to go. I'm so sorry, I don't blame you for being angry, but it's out of my control. They demanded a child and I chose you at random. I have discussed everything with your parents;they're not exactly over the moon, but everything is going to be ok. I promise."
Before I new it I was being buckled into the seat of a helicopter about to fly off to a school that no one even knew about. I was certain that I was dreaming and prayed and prayed for the moment when I woke up. It didn't come. Something told me my life was in danger and i never would report back. Suddenly I felt the helicopter begin to rise and as I looked out the window tears began to fall down my flushed cheeks as I saw all my friends waving from the sports fields. The women who strapped me in sat next to me on the journey. When she turned to face me I noticed something black in her hand: "ok miss, it's time to put on your blindfold."
