"Run!" Jupiter screeched, grabbing Lydia by the hand. Gavin followed the girls, holding his hand and weeping.
The three raced down eerie hallways. Gavin's face was pale.
Finally, Jupiter placed her tongue on a panel. The panel was engraved with Jupiter S. Bower. The panel lit up, and suddenly, the three were back in the plain rooms.
"Let's stop." Jupiter breathed heavily. She turned around to face Gavin.
Gavin was a mess. The color had drained from Gavin's face. His hands were bloody from covering his wrist. His eyes were wide and bloodshot, scared.
Jupiter ripped off Gavin's shirt. She quickly tied it around his hand.
"Are you out of your mind?" Lydia screeched. "You shot somebody!"
Jupiter gave Lydia a cold, hard stare.
"What did you want me to do? Watch him as he shoots you too? If I hadn't of shot him, he would've killed us both." Jupiter yelled.
"He's going to come chasing after us!" Lydia shrieked.
"No, he won't." Jupiter said calmly. "He's dead."
Lydia gagged. "You..you killed somebody.." she mumbled.
"They deserved it. I saved your life and you know it." Jupiter shrugged, helping Gavin sit on the floor.
Gavin looked at Lydia and smirked.
"What?" Lydia asked him, catching the smile on his lips.
"You've never sen her kill someone." Gavin laughed.
"I don't think its funny." Lydia said, starting to giggle.
"That was just the rush I needed!" Jupiter screamed, running around the room.
Lydia sat down beside Gavin.
"Who was that?" she asked.
Gavin ran his unharmed hand through his hair.
"That was a Capter." Gavin said. "They're always lurking in those hallways. They always wear those ugly green uniforms. If they see anyone out of their rooms, they'll kill you, simple as that." Gavin muttered.
"So is that what you mean," Lydia asked Jupiter, "when you said it wasn't worth the trouble?"
Jupiter shrugged. "Obviously."
Gavin's eyes grew wide.
"Were you looking for me?" he asked Lydia, a smile playing on his lips.
Lydia blushed. "Yes."
"What did you want?" Gavin asked her, scooting closer to her on the floor.
"I..I can't remember." Lydia giggled.
Jupiter sighed. "Can you guys quiet down? We need to make a plan."
"Right." Lydia and Gavin said simultaneously.
Jupiter rolled her eyes and put a stick of gum in her mouth.
"Well, there's gonna be another test tomorrow-I heard it's a whopper by the way-and I don't want to be split up from you guys. And it's obvious you guys don't wanna be split up from eachother." Jupiter smirked. "So hear's the deal. We're all going in the same bubble tomorrow."
"Okay!" Lydia replied happily.
Gavin again ran his hand through his hair.
"Too risky." he said.
Jupiter glared at him.
"What do you mean?" she growled. "It's perfect."
"Have you not seen the spikes that come out from the walls?" Gavin sighed. "All 3 of us might not be protected in the bubble."
The three grew solemn.
"I hate this place anyway." Jupiter sighed. "They've killed my father. there's nothing for me here." she mumbled.
"If anyone dies, it's me." Gavin stated.
Lydia sighed. "We'll figure it out in the morning, okay? At least we'll get some rest before the next test." she yawned and stretched her arms.
"WE CAN'T SLEEP." Gavin said angrily. "You KNOW we can't sleep!"
Lydia sat up, rubbing her eyes. She knew Gavin was right.
But Jupiter had already fallen asleep.
