Nowhere in the Bible is suicide considered a sin. God's reactions to it are interesting - for Moses, he offered help, for Elijah, food and rest, and for Jonah, shielding and protection, and then God basically kicked his butt. It turns out that in the early days of the church, so many wanted to enter the next life that suicide was becoming a problem. Even Paul said, "my desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better" (Phil1:23). It was Aquinas and Augustine that wrote against the idea of suicide, which was then adopted by the Church.....I pray (~see my pun there?) that this is an academic question, not a personal one. I agree with @Blueblotts if you have been good in you life and have earned heaven you should go there but please don't be considering it, I had a friend who attempted suicide and almost succeeded, she has regretted it ever sense

I always think you never know what the next day can bring no matter how bad today might seem. There's music, love, happiness of family or friends that can make you feel allot better. Also what if you are shown there was so much more planned for your life but you didn't see it because of a bad choice.
