I was twelve When I received my greatest surprise It was Christmas morning And I couldn't believe my eyes
I had unwrapped half my presents With half left still to open When I took one from the pile Which I knew was a piece of clothing
My expectations were not high As clothes to me were boring I was just getting it out the way But with the first rip my interest was soaring
I saw red Beautiful red And I knew straight away It was the red that every United fan bled
My first football shirt I smiled so much that my mouth for a whole week hurt I had to hold back the tears that would stream I honestly feared the whole thing was just a cruel dream
