In a drenched desert; a sea of sand
Abandon ship in no mans land
Shield the sun with my burning hand
This journey was not going as planned
I sought the truth of reality
I needed to leave life so I could see
I took a ship and crew with me
Set out like the Odyssey
I smelled it; breathed in the air
Saw the sun shine on a day so fair
What happened next I could not care
But I played with fate; yes I did dare
The sun was gone; the dark was here
I regretted playing with what I did fear
My mind was gone and my soul was clear
My crew was dead; thier bodies at the pier
I did not understand; were they under a spell
A question that all knowledge could never quell
But I saw the demon ring the ships bell
Signalling their births in Hell
He talked to me; this demon of the blue
Told me that it me he would pursue
But my suffering was worse than that of the crew
Why I suffered this I never knew
I slept awhile; for too long was I without sleep
But out my body my soul did creep
I became like a wolf in the wool of a sheep
A corpse resurrected from the depths of the deep
I wasnt alone; there was my soul and I
The gulls teased us as we drifted by
How many times I wished I could fly
To avoid the moment when my soul did die
It was slow at first; my soul caught in the sails
Like a fish in the nets; the sun on my scales
The desperation felt when all else fails
The heart stops its beat and the tanned skin pales
But alas my heart continued its beat
My skin still sweat; I was on my feet
But my soul was gone; my life retreat
My mind had swooned from this defeat
I slumped to the wheel; my head to my side
I frlt nothing but thirst since I died
My body wept but i felt nothing inside
I was a monster in a mans hide
It overwhelmed me; this feeling of thirst
I dove right into the ocean headfirst
But it was not the water that made it the worst
But the brine itself seemed to be cursed
I drank the watery salt with greed
The sting in my throat I did not heed
For my soul was above watching me bleed
For mercy and ease there was no need
