Harsh, glasslike, cold & blue,
You come at night.
Sparkling, chilled, solid & pretty,
Bathed in the morning light.
Trees, houses, garages & cars,
You care not to what you tether.
Winds blow, snow falls,
Covering you like a blanket of heather.
Come night you make another appearance,
Like clockwork it happens again.
Come daylight, soft sunlight takes it's toll,
You melt into forever with snowmen.
Each year your beauty catches me,
You're perfect in a number of ways.
Both snowflakes & icicles matched by no other,
In these our halcyon days.
