Days are filled with confusion, my lone walks down the school halls, no one seems to notice me, depression often calls.
Maybe we are too different, the in crowd is not our style, another friend took his life, sleep has eluded me for quite awhile.
I wish someone would notice me, a smile would be so nice, instead their heartless stares, leave me cold as ice.
Then one day it all changed, her face lifted my heart, she shared her love of music and singing with me, finally a new start.
We laughed and shared our thoughts almost every day, she remolded everything, like a potter shapes clay.
She knew how I felt, she felt sympathy for my pains, she stood by my side, during my life's pouring rains.
She often told me her memories, abuse that started so young, daily finding herself sobbing, starring down the barrel of a gun.
She put her trust in me, the stories would go on for hours, feelings she kept inside, so many emotions that would die.
We made quite the pair, everywhere she went I would always be, depression no longer lingered, just the smiles of her and me.
Now we walk the halls together, embraced hand in hand, her love fills my heart with joy, something their stares can never destroy.
