Her face just as beautiful, as it was in the 8th grade, her beauty unwavering refusing to fade.
A beauty I so much wanted to know, alas my love for her I would never show.
She was married when she was young, what a lucky guy, he would break her heart, to another woman he would fly.
Along and scared, she was left with a son, the youngest years of her life, she would miss out on the fun.
Times were very hard, it seemed she would never get by, alone with her son, such sad years, caused by a husband's infidelity lie.
Being overseas, I never knew her plight, such a strong woman, a very sorrowful fight.
She sought refuge, to Christ she fled, only his mercy, could relieve such dread.
A miracle received, she finally could stand, into the arms of a loving, caring man.
The years passed by, my love for her would not die.
I finally found her, my feelings I revealed, I no longer could hold it in, my love so long concealed.
She was surprised, my feelings she never knew, held inside so long, my emotions just flew.
She said she was honored, I loved her so long, she couldn't walk away, beats of a different song.
We still talk on occasion, a friendly voice she sends, the beauty of my life, still very close friends.
"Dedicated to Karen"
