The Real World

She soared across the crystal-blue sky, gently flapping her golden glossy wings. Wind brushed the stray wisps of hair off of Cherie's face as she delecately dodged fluffy white clouds. The summer's sun beat down on her back, warming not only her body, but her spirit and heart.

Cherie slowed down in her flight, and no matter how quickly she beat her lushious wings, she didn't seem to be getting anywhere. She slowly glared at her side. Great, golden teardrops slithered off the tips of her smooth, waxy feathers. They drooped down into the world below, she was falling. Falling back into the real world where pain could be felt and dreams could be broken and shattered into tiny fragments. And what put Cherie in despair, was the reminder that she would never be able to turn back.
