I Am The Sun.

I am the solitary sun,
My home is in the blue sky,
I share it with the moon and stars,
And the clouds where the angels fly,

My job is to light your day,
To guide you through with my beams,
I provide the summers warmth,
And banish the nights ghoulish dreams,

I play a part in life itself,
Without me the world wouldn't flourish,
The moon and stars would vanish,
And the flowers would wilt - malnourished,

I'm as old as the earth,
But new with each and every day,
I travel the entire earth,
Bringing sunshine your way,

Whilst you are asleep,
I have woken some other,
The other side of the globe,
I wake them from their slumber,

My job is quite lonely,
Travelling alone,
Shifting my positions,
Through each and every time zone,

I often see the clouds,
They absorb my haze,
But I'm still there shining bright,
If you were to move them out of the way,

I am the trusty light,
The one and only sun,
You will know when I'm around,
I signal your day has just begun.
