Gone

A merciful shadow swept you away.
There was nothing at all I could say.
Leaving me nothing but this dread.
Soon after, I found you dead.

Not ever have I felt like this.
Your presence I dearly miss.
If only I could see you once more.
Until then, my heart is sore.

Sorrow and pain have become mine.
It cowers above me, as if a sign.
You left without saying good bye.
Every day a part of me begins to die.

I cannot continue life without you.
There is not a thing I can do.
You were my love, my heart.
I will not take one memory apart.

There is no comfort, no relief at all.
Your name, in dream, I call.
I awaken with a single tear.
My eyes are alert, I can tell you are near.
