Scene 2:
They both go down to the dining hall. Kerry looks for Mark.
IVY Who are you looking for?
KERRY Mark. He told me to meet him here in ten minutes.
IVY (Chuckles) Don’t bother with him he will just turn up late like usual! Bet he told you not to be late!
They are on their way to a table with girls and boys who are laughing their head off, but a girl (Molly) with dark red/purple hair about Ivy’s height pushes her food tray into Ivy just missing Kerry.
IVY You idiot what you do that for?!
MOLLY (Smirks) Oh you know!
The girls break out into a fight pulling each other’s hair, using their karate training to fight and swearing at each other. Richard a tall guy with dark brown hair over his green eyes quickly grabs Kerry’s arm unexpectedly and pulls her over to his table and out of the way. Kerry gives out a little shriek when she is being pulled but no one hears it over the noise in the dining hall. People are climbing onto tables and cheering on the fight others are trying to break it up, then a food fight breaks up. Mark comes into the room and then disappears again. Sir comes in.
SIR What is the meaning of THIS?! Ivy, Molly in my office now!
The people trying to break up the fight let go of the girls so that they can go. Girls walk silently out of the room and to Sir’s office. Everyone else freezes on the spot, then they all formed two lines with the shortest at the front.
SIR You have been taught to show discipline, respect and gratitude towards each other. You have been through a lot together yet to you that doesn’t seem to matter. We teach you to look out and care for your team not to kill one another. If there is one more fight in campus or on any mission you will not go to summer camp for two years, instead…(he smirks in a malicious way) you will have to do laps around campus from 6 in the morning until midnight without a break and no water to drink everyday until I say so…
Everyone whispers in disbelief.
SIR …if you stop even for a split second…then you will get no food for that day. Dismissed. Oh yeah one more thing after you finish eating you will clean the dining room from top to bottom. I want it sparkling. You hear me?
EVERYONE: Yes Sir, sir.
Everyone goes back to their seats. Sir leaves. Kerry sits down beside Richard.
RICHARD It’s not usually this crazy. Your lucky you got to see some action on your first day here! Oh I’m Richard by the way.
KERRY I’m Kerry… (looks down and then back up again) will Ivy be ok is she in a lot of trouble?
RICHARD Apart from a punishment and a big long lecture, she should be fine (he laughs). Don’t worry we are used to getting in trouble with Sir, there is always someone at his office… Sometimes he can be a really nice guy…almost like a father…
