The first time I saw him
Was beautiful to behold
A shock of dark black hair
Above His darling little face
He tugged at my heartstrings and has done ever since
That little bundle
Wrapped in softness
My little tiny son
As he has grown throughout the years
So much pleasure has he given
We have laughed and learnt together
All sorts of wonderous things
Time it waits for no man
And he is so much bigger now
Seventeen years of age
Strong and gentle in good measure
Amazing wisdom that he brings
Makes everyday such pleasure
A little piece of heaven
