One night I was angry at the station As the doors shut i was blinded in my hesitation The last train wasn't to my home So I rested my feet and on the bench I slept alone

The nocturnal creatures gave no peace Moths danced with the light as bats flapped in the breeze I opened my eyes to an ageing rat upon the tracks A moment passed as it stated right on back

"Kind sir, which way is to my home? For many years now I have been searching all alone." Left is the town while right is the sea And if you read the sign then you wouldn't need to ask me!

The rat smiled and tilted its head It rubbed it's chin and this is what it said: "Rats can't read you silly old fool But I'll grant you a wish as you seem pretty cool"

Puzzled I asked how he was going to do that He replied with a spell as his tail whipped back I asked for happiness and inner peace He replied, that's easy it comes from within but you just have to believe.

I woke up full of morning glory A lady was stroking my head as I retold this story She said the station had been closed for many years That ghosts and spirits sometimes appear

I looked down at the old train tracks Under the foliage was the bones of a rat I looked into the distance as the lady looked back She said she was a healer and I'd find peace in the facts
