Daddy's got poor sight
Running in the city street lights
Rain on his face and leaves at his feet
He rushes out to hold the girls he loves to meet
Said Mummy doesn't understand
Daddy's got a new plan
Left a note on the wall
Said no love left to give you all
Mother left crying on the floor
Bruised and broken that's for sure
Daddy won't come home no more.
Daddy hits the bars out in the town
Pretty young Suzy died inside
Said nothing ever feels quite right
I just gotta get out of this place
Can never get ahead of the rat race
Mother said she would do anything
To get back again with him
Stays up all night till morning
Keeping the old mans flame burning
But Daddy's out in the bars in town
Said he won't be coming back around
Got himself drunk, his feet won't touch the ground
Gonna tear this town apart
Man has no soul and no blood in his heart
Sometimes when lovers depart
The children are left with a broken heart
So this goes out to the broken hearted
Who's hero's have long departed
No hope left in their life
Death stares in their eyes
Said you have nothing to prove
