I'm breaking in waves Tides come and go but I still remain Hit by the rhythm that pushes and pulls The moon shines a laugh as I stumble
Feeling around for solid ground The sand crumbles as the waves lap around The current I'm under distorts sounds The stars time me as they shine up from down
Dawn breaks and takes the tide in silence Small creatures involve some violence Seabirds dive for abandoned nets Evolution hasn't taught them well yet
I rest my worries in the warmth of my beach fire Silence breaks as the wind whistles up higher Shapes form in the once perfect bay The soaring sun hides as the earth prays
Lemming type beings sing the lords prayer As they fall off cliffs to make way for some diggers The tide has risen to wash them away Some swim while others become sea monsters prey
A tiny glass bottle washed up with a note inside It's written in a coded language I barely recognise It read "Help me and I'll help you!" The reverse had a map with a cross in blue
So I set about leaving the comfort of my island On my newly built raft I made it over the reef to the open seas silence I followed the stars on a course due east With all my supplies I drifted for about seven weeks
Land ahoy upon the horizon I paddled faster and thanked the stars for their guidance Setting foot upon solid ground A lemming creature here thanked god he was finally found
I said I received his message in a bottle and decoded the lot And asked how he could help me make my fears stop He replied "I threw it from the cliff I was pushed off In the hope you would tell the diggers to stop But you never helped me and now we're stuck here on this deserted island to rot
