She got herself into a right old state Visions of failure and embarrassment made them wait She felt sick with mouth dry she could hardly speak She was well rehearsed and practised for many weeks Her time had come but she felt really weak A friend reassured her to take deep breathes
Knees trembling and hands too as she began to pace The place erupted as she walked out with spotlights on her face Her fear turned to adrenaline as she owned the stage She relaxed and conquered her fears and sang with such grace
All the judges agreed with a unanimous "yes" She went on to win the whole contest Achieved a number one at Christmas Her biggest achievement was controlling her fears Now the world knows her name is Leona Lewis
