We was yesterday's future kids With bright futures of a new promise We had the world cupped in our minds Holding hands but led by the blind
We found new ways to get our kicks Demanding a supply chain of broken bits Higher than life and a come down to Earth We chased anything with a pulse dressed in a skirt
Just what did we achieve In this world of make believe? Did you earn enough to move away and leave? Did you invent a cure for an Internet disease? Are you playing a ace card you hid up your sleeve?
Well the futures here and we're now at middle age Do you have your own kids you wrap up in a morale cage? Are you forgiving when they come home late? Do you track their progress via a mutual Facebook mate?
Some friends have come and gone An old school photo proves the teachers wrong I bunked off that day to learn a mournful song A Jealous Guy or maybe Imagine by John Lennon
