I see familiar forms of emotions spinning the cogs of thought. You hide them to disguise and convince me and others you are not caught. You raise a eyebrow and let slip a concern. Your muted speech reveals you have many lesson yet still to learn.
You shift your weight and force a smile The wind breaks the silence and calmness after awhile As strangers pass you by and you stare down at the pavement cracks. Time passes slowly as the rain pours down and you wash the sins away as you tilt your head right back
I'm watching you but you don't notice me Are you waiting for the sun or a familiar face to come along to remind you of what you need? A well used weekend suitcase parked beside you hides the evidence for all to see You clung onto the night into this day and your only half sober and indecisive about where you really should be
You scramble for the phone as a familiar melody interrupts your gaze Now you reveal emotions plenty as you express with your face End of call with makeup stained tears you move off towards my way As you pass our eyes meet and I mouth the words "are you o.k?" You reply, "last night was great but I have seen better days"
