After a volcano erupts The Island is covered in ash and dust Drum beating in the distance Voodoo tribe is here, listen Hypnotised in blood stained eyes
Dance in time Follow the beat It's calling to you Follow the heat
In through the caverns Over fiery pools of moulting lava The passageway is suitably darkened Strange unusual symbols carved on walls Covered in blood your feet follow
The sound of the drums Echoing as you come Deeper into this dark space Deeper in a mesmerised state Follow the sounds calling Drummer picks up pace Run, quick don't be late. The opening is up ahead The tribe awaits you friend
Chanting tribe and voodoo's wild The leader is in mourning He sees you and you know Your time has come to go
Silence Calmness Stillness Fearless
Slowly you walk down Tied up in this lair Hoisted up into the air Drums begin to sound As they lay you flat back down Over a pit of scorching fire But fear is in the leaders eyes Sacrifice me in the name of pride?
A stern voice screams out loud, "Wait! This isn't what it's all about, Look your leader has some doubts. Death doesn't end us all now Your leader should be here not me Let him mourn his own fears Untie me and let me be free. Slaves of this cave Don't make another mistake Let's see if he is brave enough to find his own love. In a God he said he trusts."
Cheers fill the nights. Leader of the voodoo tribe, Died for a love unkind. Now the drums miss a beat, For the love I have inside of me.
