Cancer

We stood by your bed side,
We thought you would make it through the night,
But your body was going through a battle,
The cancer was winning the fight.
Although we don't know the face of this killer,
We know its deadly.
Taking lives overnight,
Killing hearts that were heavy.
It's taken the best smiles, the best hearts,
It's ruined relationships,
Got in between people that can't be torn apart.
Yes it's the cancer that is responsible for the pain in store,
Yes the cancer may have won the battle,
But never will it win the war.
For cancer is uncontrollable,
You cannot just steer it,
The cancer can take away the life,
But will never kill the spirit.

Cancer.

It's a silent killer, A violent killer, It crushes you like glass. It makes you hopeless, Makes you gutless, Something I wish I could pass.

Proud

Mother, you did me right, you carried me nine months in womb, sacred tomb of your soul. Bore pain in birth like no man would suffer for me; you loved me more for that, than any man would ever dare.

The Dirty Patches

The patch of dirt on grassy lawn speaks louder then the stone that lies above the slushy mud where grass is neatly grown. The only thing that I can smell is metal, sterile, clean.

Lost

I force a smile onto my broken face,. Those memories I try so hard to forget,. Everyone sees a shimmering smile,. But inside a lasting feeling of regret,. At all the things I didn't say,.
