So true. I have a belief that (and I've actually been told this is blasphemous) God needs us to spread his light upon the earth. That it is through our good and loving acts we bring his light into holy action.

@ckahn you're right. Our motivation to spread God's love and light should not be dependent nor limited to religion and its rules. (Is that also blasphemous? 😊)

@ckahn thanks too for the repost πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜˜πŸ’šπŸŒΉ

@softwhispers ha ha, well, you won't hear me saying that but plenty of religious people do say that those who do good purely on the premise that it's good and not acknowledge that it's a duty to God is actually evil. They call it humanism. It's crazy, I know.

Ha ha, well, you won't hear me saying its blasphemous but plenty of religious people feel that humanism (doing good purely on moral grounds) is evil. It's crazy, I know.

@ckahn true, to some religious people it may appear that way. But is it more evil than some of the religious' acts contradicting their own teachings and rules? πŸ˜‰

Interesting twist eh? Evil done in the name of God is not actually evil but it is evil to do good purely on the grounds of morality? Very strange indeed

Very well said, although I would contend that morality can not be entirely innate, and includes a significant, consciously learned component.

@ckahn Haha, evil gods>godless good. πŸ˜‚

@ckahn yes, it is..πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

@VikingHorn I actually had second thoughts writing innate and acquired awareness..πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜‰

@softwhispers I think it's a combination of innate empathy, and acquired understanding of the consequences of actions. Along with the discipline to do what you know is right even when it is hard or uncomfortable. 😊

@VikingHorn @softwhispers excellent, thought provoking conversation. πŸŒŸπŸ‘πŸŒŸ @VikingHorn for suggesting this series😘
