I Trust In You

I look into the mirror and barely recognise my face.
Swollen puffy eyes are the all-too-telltale trace
Of last night's argument and last night's tears,
Born of frustration, longing and fear.
But this morning this rain is gone. The day light is faint but unmistakeable.
The sun shines through the thickest clouds; like you and I, unshakeable.
This is a dark cloud, heavy and unforgiving,
But transient and temporary and above all part of living.
My trust in you is here. My faith in you is here.
My love will never falter, year after year.
And although we've been through hardships (more than our fair share),
We are all the stronger for it, the heaviest loads we'll bear,
Without hesitation or doubt, and we'll be together through it all.
You'll never let me lose hope; I'll never let you fall.
When you put that ring on my finger, we made each other a promise:
To always love and trust, to be faithful and honest.
It's a covenant I will never break, the cornerstone of my life.
You will be my kickass husband, and I your awesome wife.
So sweetheart put that rakish smile back on your lovely face.
Let the sunshine of my love wipe clean every trace.
I'll love you from a distance for as long as I must.
But these things will never fade away: my love, my faith, my trust.
