19 Minutes To Save A Life

Chapter 2
Her frail body was collapsed amongst shattered glass and rubble, yet she looked so peaceful. Paramedics were suddenly at the scene, swarming round like bees, they grabbed her body and began to pick her up but I knew it was too late. "Stop..." my voice came out as a hoarse whisper "Stop! Stop Please!" I yelled. One of the paramedics turned and glared "There is no time! Her heart is failing and we need to get her oxygen quick or she mi-" he trailed off too busy with the more important task of saving her life.

Adrenalin pumped through my body and the room spun as if I was on a roundabout. In my mind, I knew she was going to die. "her heart is failing? Take mine! Take my heart!" I was screeching now. "No. Then you would die" sighed the paramedic dismissing me. "I died a long time ago!" My voice surged across the platform in a trembling boom and everyone around stared at me for a brief second before continuing to run away.
I had gone crazy for a girl. Mad for a stranger... A dying stranger.
