Basically for AS English for homework had to write a short story so thought I'd share mine with you. Hope you like it. My friend read it and said she cried :s haha, not sure if that's a good thing or not....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With the crashes of the sea lapping against the boat and the pitter patter of the rain on the board walk, it was anything to put anyone off of going out in the deck in the frantic seas. we were on one of those cruise ships, escaping from everything. This boat was going to guide us to our future. everybody with any sense was down in the entertainment room or in the restaurants but we were running up and down the deck in the pouring rain. My heels were clashing against the wooden floor and my garments were blowing in the wind. As I was running I had my hand placed on the top of the railings, I wasn't far from the front point of the ship. He was catching up with me and I was running out of breath. I suddenly clasped the railings and three my body forward over them. I was looking down at the sea, it was fresh, and the sprayed of water felt cold against my cheek. Just as I managed to catch my breath and stop laughing I felt his hands clap my waist and pull me back. I spun round and gazed into his eyes; they were almost as blue as the ocean and stood out against his pale skin. His smile was unforgettable.
The sea air was always refreshing and the sound of the sea gulls flying by above the ship reminded me we were on an adventure. Down the deck was an old lady under a bright yellow umbrella throwing bread out for the pesky sea gulls. He dress was tattered and her scarf was blowing in the brisk wind. "Elizabeth?" Conor's voice broke my thoughts. I squeezed his hand and nodded to let him know I was fine. Ever since we left London he's been on edge, probably worried that I'll want to run back home and leave him. I pulled up my dress and dragged Conor into the ships bar. It was dark and dreary in here, the smell of smoke wafted up my nostrils with the smell of whiskey adding to it. This reminded me of what we were running from, it reminded me of the pubs back in London with the old piano player that would be playing in the corner to old depressing notes and the men gathered round a table in hushed tones focussing on their game of poker and the girls perched around the bar trying to catch any male attention to get their entertainment for the night. It made my heart stiffen as I was starting to feel homesick. I use to love hanging out in the puns, I even use to go behind the bar and serve the customers, and when no one was looking have a sneaky drink or two. But that wasn't the life I wanted to have now. Things had changed; Conor and so had to find ourselves a better life. However that didn't stop the temptation to get up on stage and break into a song to lighten the mood and get the guys up dancing and shoving their wages into my pockets. I could have been a show girl if I wanted to and ha the money.
Conor and I pulled up a bar stool to the bar and ordered from the polite bartender. I was offered a shot f vodka but I hastily declined and requested just a bottle of water. How I missed the strong taste of vodka, even if it was too early in the morning to start, I still wouldn't be able to go near the stuff. "What's the first thing you want to do when we arrive in America Liz?" Conor whispered in my ear. I put my hand to his stubbly cheek and kissed him on the lips. It left a bright red lipstick mark, whilst rubbing it off I said "I want to see a movie Conor, a real movie, back in England my mate Daisy said they were real nice." I gulped down my water and looked at my partner. He was handsome, he had dark hair which was always hidden underneath his cap, and he had on a greying white shirt which was tight against his torso and brown trousers held up by suspenders. He nodded his head in agreement "I'll see what I can do. But we need to start saving our money for the future." That was the future we were both not ready for. Rushed into it by our love for each other.
The next few months ahead of us will be as rough as the sea, I just hope when it happened we are both prepared. I pray every night that Conor and I are as strong as we thing to handle this. As we both go up to leave, Conor guided me to the front of the ship and we stood there looking out to the mass of sea around us. It was a desert of water, and we had no clues of where about we were but we knew where we were heading. Conor pointed out into the distance and said " that is where our new lives will begin Liz." I signed in relief. Liz was his pet name for me; I never let anyone else call me it. "Just the three of us, Liz." As he said this he wrapped both his hands round my growing belly. I looked down and stared at my tummy. There was life in it and Conor and I were going to be responsible for it. As the ship sailed forward, that's where our lives were going. Forever forward.
The end xoxox
