"Yes, indeed," Opuss squeaked, giving the humans her trademark "pleading kitty eyes".
"Shall I tell you a story, humans?"
"You? Story?" Maryam blurted out, and everyone burst into laughter.
"Yeah, right," Nav said, wiping his eyes.
Hannah was completely out of control, rolling around with glee. Sienna, Heather and Lee frowned at the three kids.
"Stop being immature." they said at the same time. Nav winked at Hannah and Maryam and they chorused, "But we're only kids!"
"Snap out of it," Sienna said, very tempted to pinch Nav.
"Well?" Opuss asked.
"Go on," Lee said, encouragingly.
"Ok. Once upon a time, in a land far, far away..."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For a long time, the humans were listening to the perfect fairytale about a princess and prince, dungeons and dragons, stars and moons.
"That was beautiful," Hannah sighed. "sorry for underestimating you, Opuss. We'll give you a home."
"A home at last!" Opuss cried.
"I'm going bunny-searching," Heather declared, jogging off.
At the house, Opuss was given a bed and some food in return for telling them wonderful tales. Opuss of course agreed, but said that she neded a nap first. So while Opuss was sleeping, the people thought something good.
"A party!" Maryam cried. "A birthday party for Opuss! We found her on Saturday. Saturday's her birthday!"
"Good idea," Sienna said.
They blew colourful balloons, wrapped shiny streamers and got a magnificent birthday party scene ready. Nav rubbed his hands together.
After an hour, Opuss woke up.
"Hide!!" Lee hissed. Opuss stretched, yawned and headed to find the humans.
"I sense something," she thought. "This is getting fishy."
But oh no, she did not sense the party! She sensed something far more dangerous.
Right there and then Opuss bumped into a man she did not know- this man was grinning evilly. Uh-oh...
