"Another round, dude." demanded Stephen, as he emptied the small glass in front of him. The hot, sweaty bodies were grinding without a care in the world behind him but to him sitting beside the bar, getting drunk seemed so much more appealing to Steve.
"Stevie," yelled Dan, squashed between two hot girls, "How many shots have you downed?" Refusing to reply, Stephen ran a large hand through his tousled toffee-brown mop of hair staring emotionlessly onto the club's dance floor. Although he had been approached by several ladies this night, one caught his eye. Her slender hips swayed from side to side to the rhythm of the music as she made her way towards him. Her long auburn curls fell effortlessly down her back and her sparkly bottle-green irises twinkled in apparent excitement. The baby blue one-shoulder body-con dress she had adventurously chosen to wear hugged her curves in all the right places. The £39 bargain had a low neckline, revealing her generous 34D cleavage.
"Damn," murmured Steve, "She looks amazing." She sat on the bar stool beside him and raised her eyebrow,
"Why so sad, honey?" If it had been any other girl the careless nickname would have put him off her but this girl said it with a certain assertion and confidence he seemed to find it quite scarily seductive.
"I'd rather not talk about it. What's your name, babe?" Her affectionate nicknames were rubbing off on him.
"Sunshine, if you can't tell me why you're so sad why should I tell you my name?" Smirking, Steve swung the stool so he was facing her directly, placing one hand on her bare knee he brought his head closer to hers. Her fruity, sweet perfumed filled his nose as he pursed his lips. Breathing deeply, she waited for him to make that small movement which would confirm his aims but he didn't. Steve just pulled back. Laughing silently at her shocked expression, she finally spoke.
"The name's Ariadne."
