The engine made a horrible creaking groan, as Sam stood beside shaking his head in despair. He'd left his headlights on, and now his car battery was dead.
Turning to walk back home, his eyes suddenly lit up, his luck had changed! A car was heading towards him, and he could thumb it for a lift home.
Sam was devastated when it flew past, straight through a puddle, soaking him right between his legs, in the most embarrassing place possible.
Poor Sam had been unlucky most of his life, starting when he was born in the middle of a hurricane with the roof of the hospital being ripped off, and this shockingly bad luck had carried on all through his life.
Once he climbed a tree, made it all the way up, and then jumped back down again, cheering that he'd managed it safely, before a bee's nest fell out afterwards and landed smack bang on his head! Running around, panicking trying to get it off, he then ran head first into a tree.
He carried on walking home, jumping over a big pile of steaming dog poo on the floor, but as he landed, his foot slid from under him 'SPLATTTTTT. Fortunately he didn't hurt his head, because of a soft yet smelly landing.....
If this happened to anybody else, they would be angry, but Sam just smiled and carried on, it wasn't the worst day he'd ever had!
