Chapter 6: No Way Out
The creatures could see every movement with their infrared eyes, waiting for the right movement to sneak up on them. Ragz covered the torch with his other hand, trying to make it come back but it didn't work, the flame was already weak and is about to go out. The creatures could see that Ragz and Jasmine were panicking, so they slowly sneaked up towards their prey. One of the creatures was above them; wet slobber trickled down putting out the flame. The creature then gave out a mighty screech that echoed through the cave. Ragz and Jasmine glanced up to find six sharp yellow eyes focusing on to them.
"Run!" shouted Ragz.
They both sprinted for their lives.
"Jasmine what I'm going to say might sound crazy but we might have to split up. Are you okay with that?"
"Your joking right!" Jasmine panicked.
"Look just stay on your toes. Five miles down here is two passage ways. I'm going left and you go right, so when I say now, you turn okay," he said in a stern voice.
"Okay," Jasmine said nervously.
The creatures were right behind them following their every move.
"Now!" shouted Ragz.
Jasmine quickly swung her body round and sprinted for her life not daring to turn back to see how many is following, all she could hear was scurrying that was racing towards her.
Soon she saw a bright light shining through the cave. She quickly picked up speed getting closer and closer to the light. Jasmine came to a dead end, she quickly scanned the area but there was no other passageway only the light that was coming from the clear blue sky above.
What are these creatures that are following Jasmine, will she be able to escape or will she become the next meal?
