Surprisingly LOL funny, decidedly wholesome. This is the first movie I've seen in 3D this year, and it didn't disappoint at all. Loads better than the first one (Journey to the Center of the Earth back in 2008), for sure.

Non-stop action, solid star power from at least 3 major actors and an unexpected ending made this a sequel that stood alone on its own without needing the (albeit cool) hype from its predecessor.
Gorgeous settings and superior acting make this timeless tale of revenge, love and forgiveness satisfying despite the purple prose dialogue (much improved here than say, 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'...
