Love the kitty theme, it's not that intrusive, but maybe it'll be interesting if there was also a theme for doggy lovers, and a "blank" theme for anyone not wanting one to better focus on their writing.
Now, for the PROS:
-word count shows up as you write
-has lots of categories to tag pieces, but would be better if an author can make his own tags
-writing background feels like you're composing on paper
-pieces are easy to read with handy text size adjustments
-intuitive, simple navigation
-app pretty to look at but not distracting
What I'd like to see:
-able to add emoticons (for cell phone novels) and format text like bold, italic, colors, etc.
-option to unlike a post or undo a repost...not having to go back after liking a post because a like should be something not to be taken away is a great thought, but what if these were done by mistake? I've done these while trying out the app for the first time, which really makes the spirit of liking posts in this case null and void
-option to keep drafts when writing in app
-option to keep or tag pieces as private or public
I realize the things I'd like to see would make Opuss resemble a writing app but it'd no doubt be a popular one since it'll attract more writers with the caliber found in other mobile sites like Figment or Textnovel or Wattpad for example along with their legions of readers.
Anyway, there's definitely much to enjoy about Opuss now and it can only grow as users increase and improve the overall experience with the app and the community.
