What started out as a seemingly ordinary thriller interspersed with a somewhat plodding coming of age story soon blows up into an impending apocalypse between malicious earthbound spirits in escalating confrontations with the gritty angelics.
The best buddy and decidedly human face among the supernatural characters was really annoying, I almost didn't watch the next ep. This was also a problem I couldn't get past with 'The Misfits' on more than one character, as I didn't even finish the pilot. It was way easier to overlook this with 'Fades', and it gets right into the meat of all the little plots tying everything together and making the gradual revelations worthwhile.
This series is kinda like a 'Ghost Whisperer' on the other side of the pond gone wild and violent. If you like unpredictable tv shows with a few (or more!) sharp teeth, then this one is definitely worth checking out.
