Remnants of a summers day ending.
Shapes rushing home, merging, blending.
I'm feeling beat.
Warm coffee outside.
Position a chair to rest my feet.
Stealing glances.
Night advances.
People watching.
Coy smiles.
Subtle blushing.
The fading sun glows.
Time slows.
Struck by Deja Vu.
Across the street
A girl I knew.
What to do?
Stop my arm from raising up.
Sit and watch.
Look don't touch.
Satin hair blows out of her face.
Flashbacks to a familiar place.
Warm nights on a now lonely bed.
Dancing fingers on my chest.
Love felt but left unsaid.
Watch as her swaying hands brush her sides.
One year is a long time.
Recognition grabs my eyes.
Lying in an empty park.
Watching stars, arms and legs apart.
Silent whispers in the dark.
She sways
Turns away.
Summer dress hugs her backs arc.
A walking talking piece of art.
In the space I would rest my hand.
A silver lace, two loose strands.
She walks, perfect imperfection.
Moving in my direction.
She slows, hands on hips.
A loving smile tugs at her lips.
The light I know burns in her eyes.....
But now it's for another guy.
He grabs her close
Bites her ear.
Blood in my veins
Starts to sear.
She spots me.
Guilt displaces her grace.
I stand, walk and turn away....
I can't let her see my face.
