6. We stay in the clearing until sunset, talking and messing around. By the time we get back to the house, it's dark out and the stars are making patterns in the sky, "Do you know the constellations?" I ask, stopping him before he goes inside, "Yes, why?" "Teach them to me?" He smiles, "Sure." So for about another hour, we lay in the grass and stare up at the stars, he points out constellations and tells me the stories behind them. He knows so much, it kinda makes me feel dumb sometimes, haha I never really paid attention in school. It never interested me, but Griffin got to research things on his own time, and he wasn't forced to sit through classes that were boring to him. "I wish I would've paid more attention in school. That way, I wouldn't feel so dumb around you." I laugh and he shakes his head, "You're very smart, Chasity. I just had no life outside these walls, so I had more time to study. You have street smarts, which are far more valuable in the real world." I turn my head to face him, "You don't have to compliment me. I know I'm not smart." He plays with my hair and plants a kiss on my forehead, "It depends on what you consider intelligence is."
==The next day== The sounds of birds chirping wakes me and my vision slowly focuses. We're outside on the porch still, haha I guess we fell asleep. Griffin's still sleeping, and I notice he's holding me, I must've had another nightmare. I don't usually remember them unless they're really bad. I don't want to wake him, but I can't stay in this position much longer, I'll probably start crying. Slowly and carefully, I roll out of his grip and get to my feet. He doesn't even stir, I open the front door and jog upstairs to my room to get changed. I'm still picking out a shirt to wear, when the door opens, "Hey!" I say, hiding behind the closet door, Griffin covers his eyes, "Sorry! I thought you just came up here to sleep." I grab a shirt and tug it over my head, then creep over to him and uncover his eyes, kissing him on the nose. "Next time knock, ok?" He nods, "Yeah. Sorry." I hold his hand and walk downstairs to the kitchen, he sits at the counter and I look in the fridge. "We have no food, must be time for grocery shopping." "Your dad left some money for us in case we needed anything. It's in the breadbox over there," I slide the cover back and gasp, "How much is this?" "I think like a thousand or so, why?" "What did he think we'd be buying? A T.V?" "Is it too much?" "I don't know about you, but Ive never spent a thousand dollars on food." Griffin shrugs, "Ive never gone grocery shopping, your dad always did. Remember? I've never been anywhere but here," I smirk, "Well I'm about to teach you about the world I know, come on."
