CHAPTER 4
The moment I got home I collapsed on my bed and burst into tears. I had only realized a few days ago that I liked him that way, but for him to ask my best friend out... Was I just a way for him to get to Alice? I didn't think he would do that... But maybe he would. We hung out together at lunch with Alice, and he'd seen me sit with her before. He must've known we were good friends. Or he could be trying to make me jealous. So many possibilities! But the last... That seems most like him. He loves tricks and pranks- he even said so, right out loud to me.I suddenly find I'm not crying anymore. If he wants to play this way, so be it.
I pull out my phone and text my old boyfriend. "Hey Aaron I'm sorry I've been avoiding you. I just wasn't ready to go out with you again after you... You know. I accept your apology, and would like to hang out sometime. Period!" I mutter as I type. Aaron is a popular boy, football player and all that. He cheated on me a while back and we broke up. Since then, he's texted me every day, apologizing, begging for another chance, blah blah blah. He is a nice guy, even if he only wants me back because I'm 'beautiful.' Yeah right. He just thinks he'll be more popular with me by his side. You know, the whole popular-girl-dating-popular-boy thing. I'm not that popular, but the girls couldn't stop gossiping about how cute we were, and the boys kept saying they were jealous, so I was ok. Until that beauty queen blonde walked in for half a year. He didn't know that I found out it wasn't just one night- the whole 4 months he was cheating. Well, I'll play the part if it means Michael will realize that tricking people is not the way to get what you want...
