I sprinted all the way to the end of the bridge and turned my head. It was a quiet, cold night and piercing breezes were dancing around my body. I shivered from the chilliness, pushed myself forward and parted from the wall. I looked around; they were nowhere to be seen. I breathed heavily and watched the little puffs move in and out of my mouth. One, two, three, four, five. They appeared and disappeared 5 times. I pressed my lips together, shut my eyes hard and took a deep breath through my nose. The cold air rushed right up my nostril and it felt as though thousands of needles were poking it. I opened my eyes again, and the moment stood still. There was no one else but the muted gust and empty soul. It took seconds for me to realize, what I've been running from were unescapable. They were spirits of the past, determined to take me in. I was lucky to be able to get away from them this time, but I know, they won't stop hunting me down till they catch me, because this wasn't the first time, nor will it be the last.
