I was digging straight down, looking for some coal. I was taking a slight risk because there wasn't much daylight left and I needed torches. I had forgotten how to make charcoal (I know now), so coal was the only option.
I found coal, all right. Right next to a cave spider mob spawner. And a spider jockey*.
All I had was a wooden sword and a wooden pick. No armour at all. Clever me.
Luckily I was on my Bukkit server and typed /killall.
I misspelt it as /milkall. I then died from the effect of venomous bites.
So that's why you don't dig straight down in Minecraft!
*Spider jockeys are skeletons that ride on spiders. There is a 1 in 1000 chance that a spider will spawn with a skeleton on its back.
