I wish for something, a little tale, A story to keep us going. Poems that rhyme with floorless rhythm, Or a quote to stop us weeping.
Recipes for scrumptious foods, To take our minds off sadness. Reports of others' life's great joys, To morph our tears to gladness.
The melody has passed away, But the harmony is here to stay, The bass will keep on beating in our hearts. Life is fragile, a precious thing, And sometimes for us, Fate will sing, But sorrow cannot last forever.
I wish for laughter, fun and games, In jokes of varied style. The way we write, think and sing, Is unique by many a mile.
We script the words for radio, New films and the spotlight stage. Reviews from restaurants to cars, Our thoughts will never age.
