The room fell silent.
Once chattering people turned to the entrance of the village hall, curious. The mayor at the front of the hall looked up from his sheet of paper. Guards shuffled inconspicuously towards the intruder.
The intruder in question wore a full brown cloak, with a hood, but no sleeves. It was tattered - tears scattered all over the fabric gave the impression that the man had been in many fights. He exuded a powerful aura - one that only a hero would possess. However, he kept his face hidden - asif he was afraid of revealing something.
"I am here for the brief," the man said. His voice was strong and middle pitch.
The mayor looked over his glasses at the man. "Of course," he muttered. "Do take a seat - we were just discussing the new threat to our land."
The guards stood down and allowed the man to sit.
"Thank you," the mayor said. "Now, as I was saying, we have named this new threat Herobrine. I trust you remember what he looks like."
There was a murmur of agreement from the congregation.
"And I trust you also know the terrible powers he could unleash upon us. Most importantly, death."
The cloaked man raised his hand.
"Yes?" the mayor said.
"How do you know Herobrine wants to kill us?" the man asked.
"A few weeks ago, he approached a village to the west. Two villagers say they were attacked by him. Luckily, they both managed to get away unharmed."
"Lies," the man hissed.
"What?" the mayor asked. "Louder, please."
The cloaked man stepped into the middle of the hall. "LIES!" he yelled, whipping off his cloak.
There was a gasp of surprise from the whole group. The man had glowing white eyes.
"It's Herobrine! Get him!" the mayor yelled, grabbing a diamond sword from his inventory.
Herobrine turned and sprinted out of the hall doors. The congregation followed, armed with whatever they could get their hands on. Then, suddenly, 10 creepers leapt out from behind a nearby tree and blocked the people, preventing them from reaching Herobrine. They began to hiss.
"Stop!" the mayor shouted. He said it too late.
The explosion killed over half of the townsfolk. The mayor was one who survived. He looked down the road which Herobrine had fled along. It was empty.
"We'll get you, Herobrine," the mayor growled.
