Herobrine kept running through the trees, groaning with exhaustion and disappointment. How could he have been so stupid?

He had walked right into the invader's base, unnoticed. He had heard what he wanted conformation of. But the lies that the humans told - it was unbearable. Nature was supposed to be honest and truthful - a peaceful, harmonious place. The humans simply came and violated it.

The sound of light footfalls beside him alerted Herobrine of another presence. He looked to the left and saw nothing. But when he looked to the right, there was a man dressed in a black t-shirt, black trousers and a black hood running with him. The man's eyes were also glowing white.

"How did it go?" the man asked.

"I'll explain back at the castle," Herobrine answered.

They both ran towards the mountains, to a particular place under one of the many overhangs. Herobrine equipped a button and placed it on a particular stone block, pressing it. The wall beside the duo spun out of the way, revealing a torchlight path descending into the earth.

"After you," Herobrine offered.

"Thanks," the black-hooded man accepted. He stepped in and walked down the path. Herobrine followed - but not after pulling a lever, which pushed a piston, destroyed the button, and sealed the wall back in the same position it had been before opened. Secrecy was vital for survival now.

The tunnel continued for ages, twists and turns causing complete bewilderment on which direction was forward, left, right or back. But Herobrine knew his way so as not to get confused.

At last, Herobrine, along with his tag-along, reached the end of the road. In front of them, completely hidden from the outside world, was a massive castle. Spires of bedrock wound to the roof of the giant cavern. Skeleton guards patrolled the edges, just in case a happy miner dug into the area. A group of spiders huddled together by the massive drawbridge, in quiet, frenetic discussion.

"I hope our Lord is all right," one said.

"Don't worry," another one pointed out, "he will survive however he can - he is definitely alive."

"Evening, gentlemen," Herobrine nodded, walking past.

"Lord Herobrine," they muttered, bowing before restarting their talk on a completely different topic.

The black-hooded person walked calmly by.

"Good evening, Master Void," one spider said, before re-entering the chatter.

The duo entered the main part of the castle. Herobrine sat on his throne, and the other man pulled up a guest chair.

"Well?" the black-hooded man asked.

"Don't ever persuade me to do that again, Void," Herobrine said. "You do it next time."

"Whatever." Void leant back. "What happened?"

"I got attacked."

"Oh, really?"

"Because I became tired of their lies."

"You mean you simply revealed yourself and ran."

"Luckily, there were a few creepers standing by to help."

"They were my creepers."

There was silence. The zombie guards shuffled anxiously in their positions. They knew what was coming next.

"You..." Herobrine whispered quietly, "were watching me?"

"Well, you know, just to..." Void's voice trailed off, noting the hint of restrained anger in Herobrine's words.

Herobrine stood. Void braced himself.

"Do you have any idea how stupid that was?!" Herbrine yelled with a force unheard of throughout Minecraftia. "I said it was a one-man only mission! If they had seen you, they would have gone for both of us! Then our kingdom would have truly fallen!"

Herobrine stormed out of the room and slammed his bedroom door, which was behind the throne.

Void sighed and followed him.

Herobrine's bedroom was a natural paradise. Animals roamed through the huge variety of trees dotted around the place. Grass lined the ground, as squirrels scurried through the reeds by a clear pond, where many fish happily swam around. Herobrine sat by a window sill at the back of the room, stroking an ocelot and gazing thoughtfully out of the window.

"My lord...?" Void said.

Herobrine sighed and continued to stare outside. Void joined him.

"Do you know what that is?" Herobrine said, pointing towards a light in the distance.

"No," Void admitted.

"Then perhaps I should tell you," Herobrine decided.
