"That light comes from the Tree of Time."
"No way..." Void was amazed. "It grows behind our castle?"
Herobrine nodded solemnly. "Yes, it does. You should know how it works."
"I'm afraid not," Void sighed. "Do tell me more, though."
Herobrine finished stroking the ocelot and let it run off. "The Tree of Time is a 'control point' for the time continuum. It acts as a conductor of time energy - if you shut it down, time cannot flow into our world and everything will freeze. You can also turn up the power and make time go faster.
"The Tree is extremely important to everything in Minecraftia's superverse. If it goes out of sync, the entire land is doomed. Our entire system will be frozen in time.
"I have seen the strange creatures cut down the forests. Wood is what they live on, unfortunately. If they manage to get into the cavern, they will not spare the Tree of Time. The wood it holds is enough to build three of their 'cities'. And if the Tree is destroyed - time stops."
Herobrine let those words ring in the air.
"Now you must realise why I must keep the Tree safe," Herobrine concluded.
"I understand, my lord," Void said. "I will leave you now."
Void closed the door and immediately grinned.
Via the Tree, I could control the flow of this world's time! he schemed. I could be all-powerful!
But... what about Lord Herobrine? I don't want to upset him - he's worked so hard for the world to be a better place, and I shouldn't just go and destroy the results...
And how will I even control the Tree? I have no knowledge of its seemingly ancient power. Maybe I need someone ancient to help me...
Spirits.
