A way of life
On top a plateau
The wind flowing freely
As the eagle soars them
It piercing cry
Echoes through the night
Joined by the jackal
Whose lonely nights
Are filled with scavenging
And the land whose dirt is sand
Blows away in the breeze
Cacti of different types
Are the trees of this land
They hold water inside
Beneath their prickly needles
Life sustaining liquid
Runs in them
The animals of this land adapt
They meet the challenges
Of this unlivable environment
Day by day
The weakest die and strongest survive
This is part of desert life
