Escape

Escape that's kind of hard when you're in hell

If you sacrifice your soul then the Devil can help

For a life full of riches, a purse full of paper

But that's a high price for eternal damnation

Or you an work until your calloused hands are raw to the bone

Until you have enough cash to afford to be broke

And your mortgage and loan are sharp claws to your throat

That rip away your flesh and then force you to choke

But your Porsche looks dope, ever wondered why your son stopped calling you though?

Earth's a heavy ball, gravity's a chain

That keep us all like prisoners trapped up in a cage

Like rats within a maze we're all sniffing for the cheddar

Anything to make our little bit of living better

Gems, cars and clothes might help to pass the time

But it's really hard to find the true heart and mind

The spirit and the soul, with a little bit of hope

You can build a penthouse when you're living in a hole

If you listen the you'll know that this ignorance will grow

We're all stranded in the sea, we're all swimming in our own

Gripping to a float, whether it be money, women or the dope

When you really start sinking be quick to let it go

@Cynosure thank you buddy. Love the profile pic. This piece of work is actually performance poetry but I'm glad you enjoyed it in it's written form! Have a good day.
